Finnish lifestyle brand Marimekko presented it’s Pre-Spring 2021 collection with a digital fashion show set in the brand’s in-house printing factory. The presentation featured a selection of vintage gems from past decades as a nod to Marimekko’s commitment to a timeless design.
Marimekko’s first ready-to-wear collection in 2021 was an invitation to dive into the 70 years of Marimekko’s bold prints and vibrant colors. The collection played on abstract art and geometry that included light, effortless dresses and other easy-to-wear pieces that reflected a futuristic play of basic forms such as the triangle, square, and circle.
The Pre-Spring collection introduced a new set of prints to accompany archive pattern designs in which the collection’s color palette combined earthy, tone-to-tone shades with fresh accents of lemon yellow, sky blue, vivid red and sea green. Warm alpaca knits, merino wool sweaters accompanied cotton poplin, and shimmering silk-viscose mix materials.
