Danish designer Soeren Le Schmidt showcases his SS21 collection during Copenhagen Fashion Week, presented at the highly anticipated sustainable, luxury hotel, Villa Copenhagen, carrying on the history of the former Danish Central Post & Telegraph Office. The name Soeren Le Schmidt is most commonly associated not only with red carpet designs for celebrities in Denmark and abroad, but a fashion label featuring skillful and exquisite tailoring. This season, the SLS collection is, as usual, based on old school tailoring, therefore presenting high quality and skillfulness, alongside with a rockabilly and new playful edge throughout the collection, experimenting with coarse metal buttons and solid silver zippers. The looks are perfectly teamed with hip hop music from the nineties, adding an underground vibe to the show. Soeren Le Schmidt’s way of interpreting the concept of ‘pattern manipulation’, together with his graphics and asymmetry in design, inspired from architecture, will be clearly visible during the show. The Designer pays tribute to diversity in sending to the catwalk different types of models, wearing heavy chains and the familiar black and white shoes across the genders, specially made for the show, highlighting culture and gender fluidity. The SLS collection is also centered around the idea of sustainability, accordingly using pure wool fabric mixed with raw demin, alongside with a 100% sustainable furniture fabric, presented beautifully on various designs this season, including dresses, blazers and trousers, relying heavily on the use of sustainable materials.
