Monster Energy Up & Up Announces
Spring Madness Nationwide College Music Festival and Student Talent Competition Featuring Subtronics, Oliver Heldens,
Kaskade, and Tchami
The Monster Energy Up & Up Festival has announced the launch of its hotly-awaited first college music festival of 2021. The Spring Madness Festival Competition will feature 50+ colleges and universities competing to win a performance by some of the largest headliners ever to grace the Up & Upstages. Subtronics, Oliver Heldens, Kaskade, Tchami, as well as a handpicked lineup of student talent will deliver earth-shattering, private, and compliant performances for each winning school.
The three-day competition will run March 10 – 13, with colleges facing off to gather the most RSVPs to win. Yappa will be the official voting partner for the contest, which will take place on the Up & Up website and give fans a cool, fun way to participate. The eight winning schools will produce their own “Spring Madness” festival featuring a headliner, a handpicked lineup of student performers, contests, giveaways, and online meet & greets. While tickets to the shows are free, they’ll only be available to the winning schools.
“We’re excited to continue our tradition of bringing unique and meaningful experiences to college students,” shares Steven Ferraro, Up & Up Festival Co-Founder. “Since it debuted in 2016, the Monster Energy Up & Up Festival brand continues to grow — even through these times — largely in part to our passionate community of student ambassadors.”
The Spring Madness campaign will also hail the return of the $10K Talent Showdown — a variety of talent competitions featuring students who possess extraordinary talents. Students can compete for the $10,000 grand prize plus additional prizes by sending video submissions to 10ktalentshowdown.com or by using the hashtag #10KTalentShowdown on TikTok. Once the 10 finalists are revealed, fans will vote for the grand prize winner using Yappa. (For all details go to 10ktalentshowdown.com.)
Student mentorship has always been a huge component of every Monster Energy Up & Up Festival, and the Spring Madness Festival is no exception. Student interns will be equipped with top-of-the-line production equipment and receive valuable coaching from the internal Up & Up team on mastering top music industry skills — from event staging to marketing to management and beyond.
The Monster Energy Up & Up Festival continues to provide a place for students to cultivate careers and self-growth through hands-on learning experiences. Since 2016, tens of thousands of students have competed annually, producing campus Up & Up Festivals with breakout EDM artists like Alan Walker, Troyboi, Slushii, Two Friends, Elephante, NGHTMRE, San Holo, and more.
Lastly, Monster Energy Up & Up has announced the launch of Club 100, a virtual college venue premiering February 21st, which will host a monthly event featuring musical performances, national artist appearances, notable industry guest speakers, educational opportunities, games, giveaways, and more.
