MFW | Serdar | Fashion Film ‘Gymnasium’ | Men’s Collection SS 2022

FASHION FILM

20 years after the publication of the Photo Book “Gymnasium” Serdar reinterprets the timeless images of Luke Smalley, through his exclusive Fashion Film both in Colour and in Black & White

A moment in time, an exploration of innocence of adolescence, captured in a moment and preserved by feeding on a purity that exquisitely becomes an approach to style in the new SS 2022 collection by Serdar.

The inspiration comes from the work Gymnasium by the American photographer Luke Smalley.

His young athletes immortalized by sensual and timeless shots, to which the chromatic accords of black and white and colour, add a strong identity and a recognizable character, the same one that is found in the designer’s proposal dedicated to a dynamic and cultured man, confident in his potential. The essence is all here: the awareness of one’s value in the world which translates into an identity and versatile style, characterized by a prêt à porter whose individual items, combined with each other to guarantee perfection on every occasion.

SS 2022 Collection
The precise tailoring of the collection leverages details, which have always been a priority in Serdar’s aesthetic codes, in which nothing is left to chance. The zips are brought to the fore; there are ergonomic pockets that are positioned on trousers and shirts; it is the attention to prints in which the artistic flair of a man is concentrated who chooses graphic patterns in macro and micro dimensions and prefers a wild paw print in which is Serdar’s exclusive ‘animalier’ interpretation.

At the center are the fabrics, whose sustainable soul resulting from creative upcycling gives new life to the unused textures of past seasons among crisp cotton, soft cotton jersey, practical cotton with nylon.

The color palette is essential and recalls summer swirls: the inevitable black and white stand out alongside gray, khaki, blue, green, and navy.

“Being present for the fourth time in the official calendar of the National Chamber of Fashion showing my collection on the occasion of the men’s fashion week is a source of great pride for me, especially in this important moment of recovery for the whole sector.

I thank the support that, for years, has been granted to me by Camera itself and that has made my bond with the city of Milan even more intense, so much, so that it represents, for me, my home today.

I have once again chosen to use a fashion film to summarize the essence of my new male proposal, in a story in images shot like a reportage style in an all-white studio designed to emphasize the highlights of the collection – Serdar Uzuntas, Creative Director Serdar Milano.
