INTERVIEW WITH FASHION DESIGNER JOSEPH AUREN

What is typical of the creative personality of this artist is the series of black and white, followed by white and black, while his main interest is focused on elegance in the development of every detail. Joseph Auren is a regular participant in fashion weeks across the world, in Paris, Milan, and now in  Los Angeles. When asked which was the source of the concepts he used to create his fashion product, the designers gave the following reply, “nature and its beauty, even Space”. He loves the geometric lines in the models and their multifunctional application and comfort. The artist incorporates every new concept and inspiration on the drafting table, where new beauty and originality are born. The designer is an optimist and irrespective of his hard past, his future looks bright and attractive and corresponds to his black and white colors.

In early October, Joseph Auren launched his spaceship and headed to Los Angeles for Fashion Week 2022, where he debuted his second collection, Future to the Moon. Dark lighting and an atmospheric track set the stage for a show that is sure to take the fashion industry by storm. The man behind the magic is Joseph Auren, a self-made designer. He was born in Bulgaria but moved to Germany to pursue his passion for fashion. Now, he’s determined to share his otherworldly designs with a worldwide audience, and Future to the Moon is the catalyst to make it happen.

Pahāsu How did your passion for design start and how did your creative process work?

My passion of designs started by own way to dress myself and loving typical design by feeling different than other people with my own style. Moreover, I have been always stimulated and passionate by Art in general (drawing, buildings, museums, singing, monuments, literature…). Therefore, I wanted to manifesting my own vision of art through fashion and to share my thoughts to dress men in an innovative way and making it singular.

How do you think the fashion industry is helping independent designers?

Indeed, Fashion helps young designer because people always want to discover new designs and innovative vibes that brought by young designers. Some concept store & showrooms are made only for us. There are many canals and ways to be helped but to me we have to choose the right ones to be not mixed too much and being flustered each other’s.

Can you tell us a little bit about your references and inspirations for your garments?

In my atelier, I listening music. It helped me to stimulate me and my soul. Therefore, it became important to me because it’s represented in a part in my mood and designs : waves, senses, and vectors.

Moreover, I’m used to traveling a lot. I love finding inspiration somewhere else. I always attend to the Milano, Paris & NYC Fashion Weeks. I had the opportunity to attend to the bigger shows and to make professional meetings there.

Can you describe your client’s personality in a few words? What do you think it’s your best-selling garment?

Wearing Joseph Auren’s is not only about fashion, it deals with a real lifestyle. My typical clients can be an average smart & sportive person and a celebrity as the same time. Just like sensitive people.

I always wanted to highlighting the figure of manliness through my designs. I wanted to make something smart, sophisticated and extra but to being too much or vulgar. This by keeping my DNA : minimalist and futuristic. My pieces are special and they are worn for special days or occasion and daily life too dealing with smartness & fitness.

My bestsellers are concentrated in minimalist and basic design that can be wearable in daily life : as futuristic fitted black & white suite, jackets, too with high collars : refined, smart & powerful at the same time.

What is the long-term goal for you as a designer and what is the main mission?

I invested a lot in my brand and I have given everything in it. I just want to make it grownup and to reach people’s spirit by making them sensitive about my vision to see the future. I want to bring you all with me to this way in direction to the moon!

What are the most interesting social platforms that can help your label?

Instagram stays for me the best tool to be connected with my community of customers. Then, my brand is shared in many press magazines & influencers that give me visibility and traffic to my account and my website. Moreover, I plan to expand my brand in many physical shops in International.

Can you tell us what is the next project?

Firstly, I want to continue of spreading my brand in the USA and still make it wearable on celebrities and get collaborations press & medias. Then, I plan to expend my brand in Asia. Finally, but not least I’m focusing to share a new collection that will make people amazed hopefully. I want to spread my vision of future in all over the world and make it real : “reaching the future before it happens”.
