What would have been Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia’s 25th–anniversary edition has just been added to the of COVID-19’s list of victims. Buyers and editors from around the globe were due to convene in Sydney May 11th to 15th to review Australian Resort 2021 collections.
IMG, the organizer of the show had allotted 25% of seats at participating shows available for purchase by the public of which had already been sold. Refunds will be issued as quickly as possible, according to IMG.
Established in 2019, the vision MBFWA is to become a leader in sustainably produced fashion events globally, with a special focus on reducing single-use plastic and minimizing, measuring and balancing the carbon footprint. They advocate for a sustainable and responsible fashion industry that plays its part in the challenges that are faced today, and the hope is for Sydney to recognized as a hub for sustainable fashion innovation.
