Forte dei Marmi, Italy
Chiara Boni La Petite Robe showed her iconic collection for spring/summer 2021 in beautiful Forte dei Marmi, Italy. This season she opted to forgo her regular showing in New York and instead give a glimpse of somewhat normalcy in this current global uncertainty. Forte dei Marmi is the Tuscan luxurious sea resort where Chiara Boni spent happy, long summers of her childhood. She wanted to show the collection on the beach of the five-star Augustus Hotel, to create a unique setting for an intimate and personal runway show, celebrating that timeless elegance which is deeply linked with the lifestyle of the Versilia.
The collection is reminiscent of the effortless sophistication from the Fifties and Sixties’ fashion. Graceful white cream tones matched with lightweight shades of beige. For summer 2021 and in keeping with the identity of the brand, Chiara Boni La Petite Robe embraces a very refined yet always comfortable and functional aesthetic.
The label’s iconic mix of hats gave way to the fluidity of each shape and relaxed silhouettes. Environmental sustainability is key the brand but yet keeping that feminity and refined charm. One-shoulder dresses enriched with feminine draping or seductive dolman sleeves, sarong-like skirts are paired with sophisticated swimming suits revealing sculpted bodices or soft bows, while jersey mini skirts are enriched with voluminous tulle frills and tails caressing the sand. Tailoring-inspired cuts define the double-breasted blazers matched with cigarette pants and sartorial patterns give an elegant vibe to jumpsuits cinched at the waist with coordinated belts.
As the start of fashion month begins, this is one show that will make the mouths drool of envy.
