Summer Hair Trends For 2022

With summer just around the corner, it’s high time we look at some of the main hair trends for the upcoming season. From the summer staple of beachy waves to fun y2k-inspired updos, here are some of the summer hair trends for 2022.

Blowouts

The nineties-inspired blowouts have become all the rage recently. This hair trend goes back to last winter and we don’t see it going out of style any time soon. It compliments almost all face types, plus, who doesn’t want to have that opulent look pioneered by Rachel from Friends? The look may be hard to achieve if you have thin hair but thankfully adding in some hair extensions can be your saviour! Wash your hair and style it with the eponymous Dyson air wrap or wrap your locks into wide hair rollers and you’re good to go!

Middle part ponytail

The summer humidity makes it difficult to keep your hair out of your face. It’s a safe bet that the traditional low or even high pony with a middle part will be absolutely chic this summer. To secure the ponytail after it’s in place, sleekly brush through your hair and secure it with your favorite hair gel or even hair glue.

Fun tiny braids

If you’d like to be trendy then consider this hairstyle! Braids are a great way to have a fun hairstyle that can last for days, even weeks on end if done correctly. Furthermore, you can get a wild and wacky design, for example rainbow colored braids or more structured ones. Braids are simple to make and need little upkeep which makes them perfect for summer. Easygoing styles will be popular this season. As with any protective style, you should keep your scalp moisturized to minimize breaking.

Airdryed hair

When it comes to style, less is often more. The same goes for hairstyling. For this season, hair professionals predicr that natural airdryed styles will be popular because people stopped minding about being perfect all the time. Going back to your natural texture can be empowering for many women. You should want to embrace your best textured life! You need to do a bare minimum to achieve this undone look. Just put some leave-in conditioner to keep your hair hydrated and add in some texture spray if you wish. This is probably the easiest hairstyle for travel this summer!

Curtain bangs

Curtain bangs in the style of the ’70s and ’80s are making a comeback. If you have a round face, you can wear them with any hair length. In addition, the fringe is simple to style. A volumizing spray, should be used to wet bangs before blow drying with a large round brush. Once you’re done just separate them with your hands.

Y2K fun

Gwen Stefani and Britney Spears’ signature hairstyles with the butterfly clips, claw clip, and bubble braid, have all made a comeback. The millennium’s braided, clipped, and twisted hairstyles are returning. Think of all the funky hairstyles you sported when you went to kindergarten and try to recreate them! You can pair this fun hairstyle with a basic oversized shirt and some chunky sneakers and you’re good to go!

Half up-half down

A simple but elegant style that will be popular this season is the half-up, half-down hairstyle with straight ’90s inspired pieces in the front. Straighten and leave out two little pieces in front while adding some volume at the crown. Then, secure back your hair starting from your ear to the back of your head with an elastic band or a claw clip to finish the style.

Pops of color

Bright colors have always been popular for the summer and this year is no exception. You can choose to go all-in and dye your entire hair bright pink or purple. If you don’t want that big of a commitment or you don’t want to have hard time maintaining you hair color, you can always dye only the front part of your hair or opt for balayage.

Summer is the season to have fun with your hair and style it in the most convenient way possible. The heat and humidity can ruin the convoluted hairstyles which is why this season the accents are on fun Y2K accessories, natural texture and braids.
