Set within the medieval St Bartholomew-the-Great Church, Simone Roacha staged her first physical
show since February 2020, and it was something special to say the least.
Her models were fresh faced with minimal make-up, with some adorning glitter, and others having
bumble bees and flowers painted on. Each model on the catwalk was adorned in regal attire, with
outfits made from layers of broderie anglaise, lace and tulle. Romantic looks for a somewhat
romantic setting. Shoulders were covered with christening shawls, juxtaposed by voluminous skirts,
showing that conservative dressing can also make a statement. With pearl crowns upon their
foreheads, there was something quite ethereal about this SS22 show.
On the other hand, black and red vinyl jackets and laced up boots represented something other that
regal and ethereal, something darker and more daring, which when paired with the soft tulle, lace
and broderie anglaise dresses gave it a more punk vibe.
There was something bridal yet punky about this collection, and showcased that soft and hard can
mix together well and place nice. By the looks of this, spring 2022 looks to be exciting time for
fashion!
